UK Look Ahead
February 25th 2018

Bitterly Cold, Widespread Snow.

This week will see bitterly cold air from Siberia move westwards over the entire UK during Monday. Most places initially dry, however snow showers will soon develop in eastern areas, these becoming more prolonged and widespread during Tuesday and particularly Wednesday where disruption is likely. Location of the heaviest snow uncertain but south and southwestern coasts, east and northern England and northern Ireland currently favoured.

By Thursday, showers fade somewhat as low pressure moves up from the south west..a period of heavy snow in strengthening winds is likely..areas east of high ground experiencing blizzard conditions. It is uncertain as to how far north this area of snow will track before stalling.

Less cold in the far south by the weekend.
