Warming up after a wintry start
Monday sees a continuation of the cold weather with snow showers affecting eastern areas with accumulations possible especially early and late. Dry elswhere but rain and hill snow will move into the west later.
Tuesday will see the last of the showers move away as the rain and hill snow to the west slowly tracks east.
Wednesday looks particularly cold, wet and windy in the south as a deep area of low pressure moves in from the south west, heavy and persistant rain then for most on Wednesday and Thursday with the best of the weather for the north.
The end of the week and into the weekend sees winds swing to the south west as the aores high ridges north over the UK, so plenty of dry sunny weather away from western coasts as temperatures nudge into the mid teens.
