Russia has also suspended flights to Europe.
Having only been over there a few months ago I saw the effects that a down turn in tourism over recent years has had (many unfinished hotels etc) and this will make things much worse. I flew from Hurghada airport and it probably had the strictest security measures I had seen. You cannot get into the airport without a ticket and passport (reps etc have to stay outside) and went through three security checks before we got airside. So I was surprised to hear there have been concerns about the security at Sharm airport.
Safety has always got to be the number one priority but flights need to be resumed as soon as it is deemed safe. As I heard mentioned on a news programme yesterday, how would we of felt if flights had been stopped to the UK after Lokerbie?
Seen something in the newspaper, on the news channels or elsewhere? This is the place to share.
