Up to 20 cm (8 inches) of marble-sized hail reaches the bumpers on their cars.

A rare hail storm in Brazil’s largest city left residents working to dig themselves out after they became stranded. They had to use front-end loaders to move the hail out of the way.

“It might be winter here, but it never snows, except in the most southern parts of Brazil,” says this YouTube description. “Most Brazilians never see snow, so this truly is a special day.”
