Inch Wide Hail in Durham

Post #1 by GrannyGrottbags » Thu Jul 02, 2015 10:00 am

Now for the rain: Inch-wide hailstones fall as thunderstorms sweep the country after 98F Britain bakes on hottest July day on record

Temperatures at Heathrow Airport reached a sweltering 36.7C yesterday, making it the hottest July day on record
But sunshine gave way to rain showers overnight and hailstones the size of coins pelted the north east of England
More thunderstorms forecast for today and could disrupt play at Wimbledon where showers are expected by lunch
