UK Look Ahead
Issued Sunday 21st Sept
Wet and windy in the North West, mostly dry and sunny south east
High pressure will start to sink south this week as pressure lowers to the north. The pressure differential will result in a windy week for most with spells of rain and drizzle in the north west. The fronts producing the rain will try to push south but the higher pressure here will weaken the fronts to nothing more than a band of cloud and drizzle.
After an unusually warm and humid week, although never cold, temperatures will return to the high teens in the south and low teens in the north where the winds may touch gale force mid week.
Currently it looks like the higher pressure will ridge north again later in the week and into the weekend so returning to warm and sunny conditions to all away from the far north west.
