East/West split!

A classic battleground scenario forming this week as a strong Scandinavian block forms to put a halt on the normal west to east progression of the Atlantic lows. The UK currently looks to be situated in-between the two weather systems with the low held out west for a while and the high stationed to the north east. So, for the coming week, the further east you are the cooler, dryer and sunnier under the influence of the high, where as in the west, a strong southerly wind picks up mid-week as the Atlantic tries to push in. Detail is difficult to pin down as to when rain will arrive in the west but as it stands the threat of rain pushing into the far west increases the later into the week and weekend we go. Central and eastern areas staying fine into the weekend. Temperatures rising in most areas later in the week to nudge into double digits.
